Today is NOT Mother’s Day, as we know it. But we need a bit of history for today: Mothering Day and Julia Ward Howe fits the bill. She was a Unitarian whose influential 91-year life, spanned most of the 19th century and ended in 1910. Her story includes planting the seeds for Mothers Day.
