Honoring our Most Flawed Ancestors

Today, we honor that time of the year when the veil between the deceased and the living is at its most thin. Today, we honor those in our family lines who were not perfect maybe even so imperfect as to invoke a desire to allow them to remain veiled forever.

Here at 1stUUPB, some of us are big doers. Some are big thinkers. If our thinking is divorced from our doing, we can end up spinning our spiritual hamster wheels and burning out our volunteers.

Rest, Self-Care, and Community

This weekend is a celebration of the working class, and the way we and they chose to celebrate was to simply get a day off…which we later filled with so many activities as to need a subsequent day off to recover. Self-care, rest and community are not always at odds with each other.
