For the past several years the Justice Action Ministry of the First Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Palm Beaches has authorized a limited number of grants from funds raised by dedicating the plate collection on the third Sunday of each month.  (Funds are collected until the end of the month.)  The grants are awarded to not for profit organizations or individuals that address pressing needs in our local community. Organizations with budgets under $250,000 received first priority.   Grant applications are submitted by members or friends of our Congregation who have direct knowledge of the need described. The charities are chosen by the JAM committee as a whole. The member or friend who submitted the application is responsible for providing documentation that the money was spent appropriately.

You can financially support our Justice Grants Program with an online donation HERE

All members of the Congregation are encouraged to join the Jam Committee. Meetings are the third Sunday after the service. At the present time, they are by e-mail.

In 2019, $3,912.69 was raised for general awards and $664.02 in a dedicated collection for Emergency Medical Assistance and the grants of $450 were awarded to not for profit organizations or individuals that address pressing needs in our local community. Organizations with budgets under $250,000 received first priority.
