On Sunday, March 7, 2021, the 1stUUPB Transition Team launched the History Project, as part of our call to help the Congregation explore its rich heritage during the interim period. The goal is to reconnect us with our founding mission, so we can strengthen our current ministry and position ourselves for a bright future.
The main component of the History Project is a slideshow that was originally created for the Congregation by Rev. Claudia Jimenez during her internship at 1stUUPB in 2017. Transition Team members Amy Stauber, Bob Burns, Rhonda Kessler, and Steve Pock have expanded on her work by searching our archives and interviewing longtime members to create a visual timeline of the important moments, ministers, buildings, and movements that have defined 1stUUPB’s nearly 70-year history. Our hope is that the slides will generate good conversations and jog memories of other events that might be added to the slideshow.
The Transition Team will show the complete History Project slideshow set to music and host breakout rooms for reflection and discussion afterward.
